I wanted to create a Simple Program in JO that pulls from a Data Designer. My last step of the Data Designer is a Formula Field (string type) that uses a Case statement to grab the Company ID from one field, unless it’s null, in which case it grabs the Company ID from a different field.

When setting up a Simple Program, it tells me that the Data Designer needs a Company ID field. It has one, it’s just that it’s a string-type instead of an ID-type.

I have had somewhat similar issue in the new JO, where ID fields like GSID/ SFDC Id from Data Designer source are fetched in as String in the JO program. Then this blocks me from logging the JO emails to Salesforce as it requires the following:
“Add or configure a Person ID field in Sources by modifying the datatype from the dropdown next to the field.”
When I go back to configure the JO source there is no option or dropdown feature that can change the fields type from string back to ID.
