This is related to my previous post re: individual link styles. That one has been resolved, but it’d be great if we could update our default link style to match our branding guidelines. It seems that updating the theme for email templates is a thing (at least per this post about community emails), but I haven’t seen any options to do so for JO email templates in CS.

Further, I just noticed here that link formatting in the new Horizon email templates is “auto calculated based on the parent values.” Is there a way to update the parent values for Link Formatting?

Our organization recently conducted a brand unification initiative (between marketing and our enablement teams), and having to manually update the style and color for every link in an email would be a massive headache.

@revathimenon @Kenneth R can we get some eyes on this? It’d be awesome to be able to update the default color for links in the template defaults. Our new branding includes a new shade of blue for our links, and updating that in every single template is unwieldy.

@dayn.johnson this parent value is derived from the parent HTML tags. Its not a global value you can set for links

@ssamarth parent values for link formatting aren’t the issue, I just happened to see that and wasn’t sure whether that would have anything to do with the defaults.

The key issue here is that the default link color is chosen for us, rather than allowing us to set what hex color we want the text links to appear.

@ssamarth – yet another thing that would be good to have for building our own predefined templates.

Part of our new brand guidelines include a different link color, so each time I add a link within the body text for an email, I have to paste in the new link color. I can change the default font color. Why can’t I change the default link color? As my manager said… “it’s all just CSS.”
