How to manually activate a user in CE

We do quite a few Instructor Led trainings each day, and occasionally a user will be shared the Zoom link for the session, without having registered an account within our CE instance. We want to make sure they’re logged as having “Attended” but we can’t add a user to the event, without a CE account that’s also activated. Usually activating for us happens through SSO. Does anyone else have a similar set up and any recommendations on how to capture these attendees?

Less posts listed within Tabs widget

Hey everyone,Has anyone come up a script or other workaround that allows you to display less questions in the “recently active” or “help others” sections of the Tabs widget? Currently there’s 10 displayed, but for our purposes, we’d prefer 5-6. We’ve looked into using the dynamic content widget instead, but that option doesn’t display the first part of the actual question (which we like). Any ideas?

Reporting on GS item creation

We are in the process of getting everything in Gainsight created and part of our goals is the creation of Playbooks, Programs, Dashboards, and e-mail templates.  Is there a way to report on these items by creation and modification date?

How to Notify CSMs of email outreaches without filling their inbox?

Hi,Im hoping someone might have found a creative way to solve this or there’s a feature I might be missing. I would like to notify our CSMs when an outreach goes out to their customers.  Options I’m aware of:Log to timeline. But that does require the CSM to keep checking the timeline.  Copy the CSM on the email in the JO. But if they have 30 customers and 10 contacts each, they will get 300 copied emails I believe. Any other options or creative ideas that some has tried? Thanks.

Timeline Templates In the Object

Hello AllAs per the requirement we need data timeline template wise how many accounts are using that template and how many times has been used?  For Ex: If i have timeline template name “Cadence Call” is used in account X and its used 5 times till today,I need a report that X account used this template for 5 times. Is it possible?if yes in which object these template names are stored. Thank YouShilpa S

Community is slow and sometimes gives error "Sorry, this page is currently unavailable" and so on

Slowness started I think last Monday, randomly. Pages open slowly.Last night one of our superuser reported that she got this error: She also got error500 page as well.Today our moderator got that “Sorry, this page is currently unavailable” error when she tried to open drafts from Control. I got this error randomly last Monday when I used Control.I tried to reply to topic few minutes ago and I got “Somethings gone wrong” error.Is there anyone else having same, random problems?

Are you running an Advocacy Program within the community?

Hi Community, I’m keen to hear your best practices on running an Advocacy Program within the customer community. Are you using private or hidden groups for it? Or are you using a separate platform for it?  If you have your advocates/champions in one separate group how do you differentiate the content that you have in the community vs the content you post in this group? Do you have an incentive program for your advocates? Which one? How do you track the acts of advocacy?  Your experience and insights are greatly appreciated! Thanks,Katya

Best way to translate custom buttons?

Hi there! When using custom buttons in the V2 Editor, I’m having a hard time translating/localizing them. When I import a XLIFF for another language, I cannot make any changes to the button (like changing the text, button action etc) without significant meddling in the HTML. Is there a better way to localize custom buttons easily?

I founded this by accident and I started to wonder, what is diffence between these two settings:Control → Phrases → Module: Forum metatagsvs.Admin panel → Theme → Branding → SEO & SOCIAL: Title  At first glance both looks same, but if so why there are two different places to define metatags?

CSQL modification through the API

I am creating a utility which uses the Gainsight APIs to copy CSQLs from Gainsight to Dynamics since we use Dynamics CRM instead of Salesforce.I can use the API to get the CSQLs through (somewhat) documented API calls:POST xyz.us2.gainsightclud.com/v1/data/objects/query/gs_lead  → gets me all the CSQLs in the system.However, when I try to update the Gainsight CSQL as to whether the Dynamics Opportunity was Won or Lost (or make any other changes to a Gainsight CSQL) using:PUT xyz.us2.gainsightclud.com/v1/data/objects/query/gs_lead?keys=GSIDI am getting the error “Wrong api called, Transactional Data Load not supported for this object. Please check Gainsight Documentation”What is the correct API to use? Or does one exist? Since Gainsight has a Salesforce connector that does the same thing, this must be doable.

Need advice for fixing our rank structure

We have a newish community that has just passed the 6 month mark and we are starting to engage with and reward our most active and helpful members.  I recently discovered a flaw in our ranking structure which has kept at least one top member “stuck” at a low rank because he is a “responder” rather than a “conversation starter.”  He has posted 58 replies and 16 best answers, but has never posted a new topic.  The rank structure (created before I joined the team) assumes that people who are active will create at least a few new topics along with replies.  What is the best way to fix this so that our members can move up in ranks if they reply a lot even if they do not post new topics?  I am sharing a screen shot of what we have now.  For Level 2, we previously created a second row to accommodate an “OR” scenario, where you could reach that level by posting a new topic or replying.  Do we need to apply this to the entire structure, with one row for reply count and another for new topic cou

Hi,  We host monthly community events and create general event pages in our community page with the general information about the event as well as the registration details. Is it possible to see the page views?  I don’t see this option in the analytics page.  Thank you!

Issue with re-publishing - progress sets to zero

Hello! An issue I’ve been having is we have a lot of courses that need frequent updates, though when I re-publish a course with new docs or videos, it sets everyone’s progress back down to zero even if they’ve already completed parts of the course that did not change. Is there a solution for this that I’m missing?

Embed video library on custom page

Hey friends!We’ve recently built up our video library on a third party platform that’s not supported by Customer Communities. However we’d still like to have the library available within our community.  In a perfect world, we’d embed the video library itself (not individual videos) into a custom page. Has anyone done this? Should it be possible via the HTML widget?

Round Robin CTA

I currently have a rule set up to round robin manual CTA’s and they are scheduled every 2 hours. Does the round robin reset and start at the beginning of the list every 2 hours or does the round robin pick up where it left off the last round ?

Reporting on Customers without goals

We have an internal KPI to have say 75% of our customers with goals.  so, in order to report on the KPI progress I am trying to create a report that shows the total number of customers and the number of customers that do not have a goal. Any ideas on how to create something like that?

Does anyone have a code that they can share to make the primary navigation sticky so main menu  remains in place as a user scrolls down a page, making it accessible at any time without scrolling back up?

Mass update CTA due date and snooze status/date

We have enterprise CSMs who manage multiple accounts, some with 100+ locations.  Each of the individual locations have CTAs specific to that location, but some times need to be updated in mass. My request is for the ability to mass update CTAs to change their due date or mass snooze CTAs for the same amount of time.

How can I track each time a specific link was clicked in an email?

We have an adoption campaign that contains several emails with links to different types of resources in single email (YouTube video, admin guide, blog, etc.). How can we track which links in a single email are receiving the most clicks. Would like to understand if videos are getting more clicks than the blog, contacts are going to admin guide, etc. Right now, I only see high-level reporting (total opens and click to opens), but not a breakdown of the actual link clicks in the email.
