Allow lock survey responses after first response is recorded by Company or Relationship

Related products: CS Surveys & NPS

Hey all,

We need a way to prevent further responses to a survey from company or relationship recipients when we have already recorded one response for the company or relationship level recipient (based on Company GSID or Relationship GSID).

The challenge:

It is rather frequent for us to send out emails with surveys (which will be to collect some form of data such as plans regarding X or Y, that is the same plan for a company or a relationship, regardless of recipient, but which we need to request from a number of individuals because of the eternal data quality issue).

That means several participants can respond to the survey, and a response could end up overriding another (if we push data to another object) when really, we wanted one response BUT we had no choice but to send the survey to several participants (AND we want to record who the respondent is).

The semi-anonymous survey doesn’t do the trick for that purpose.

The need:

We need a solution to “disable” survey links that were sent to participants from the same relationship or company AFTER we have received the first response for that relationship or company (this should be configurable to meet both the company or relationship setup). Simply - links sent to the other recipients should lead to an alternate end page saying “A colleague from your company has already responded!” (configurable, of course, and translatable).

We have worked out a workaround through a community discussion involving skip and display logic to prevent the display of actual questions based on a company or relationship field that we’d populate with a rule every time we receive a new response, which will allow us to either deflect responses OR to filter out responses which would just show the acknowledgement that we already have the response. But that does not scale - it’s DIY at best.

Absolutely agreed -- hoping to hear/see more about surveys at PAL200 and Pulse this year! Currently using Typeform for our surveys (hidden fields there gave me the idea about passing through the company id), but hoping to start building some surveys in Gainsight depending on what I find out.

Being able to embed more than one question in an email (and have the survey submitted without the participant leaving the email) would be hugely beneficial for several of the surveys we send. Typeform surveys look good, but needs outweigh looks.
