Allow Users to Set Custom Colors at Report Level

Hello team!

In our Report Builder, we have the ability to set custom colors, but only at a Global level.

There exist certain circumstances where using these color options will actually limit the types of reports that you can build out, due to the custom color field being required to be in the By section.

To bypass this, it would be useful to have the option to alternatively be able to change the color of a specific visualized element in Report Builder. For example, being able to click a column in a a graph and simply "select" a new color for this specific column. This would be incredibly useful.

      Great Idea! I've experienced the same problem. I wish I had the ability to color customize each graph without being forced to add that color customized field to the "By" section.

        I agree with this. Struggling on this right now with a pie chart that shows if a particular CTA is closed or open. The open shows risk, which needs to be red and the closed shows mitigated risk, which should be green. They are currently opposite.

          Hi Cinco, Your Use-case can be achieved through Custom Colors.Custom Colors in the Report Builder allows you to set colors for field objects under a source object. Here is the link https://support.gainsight.com/Product_Documentation/Reports_and_Dashboards/Admin_Configuration/Color...

          Thank you for the article. However, it doesn't look like this is working for the report that I'm building.  For instance, here is our Color Palette: https://uploads-us-west-2.insided.com/gainsight-us/attachment/DnWkc1.png and here an image of the pie chart colors: https://uploads-us-west-2.insided.com/gainsight-us/attachment/3hokg1.png.   
          I also tried some other custom colors options to no avail.  I spent time with Logan in Chat and we weren't able to get this going.

          Another use case for this is the following: I have a customer that assigns a status color to users of either red, orange, grey, green, or blue. Their table is setup to capture the number of users for each bucket, which then leads to a report like this:



          What I'd like to do is change each value in the show field to correspond to an appropriate color rather than the default Gainsight provides. However, we are not allowed to assign custom colors to number fields. This limitation would ideally get resolved by allowing us to change colors within the report level itself.
