Order product areas

Thanks @logicalhare for submitting this idea! It makes a lot of sense to have more flexibility in deciding the order of how product areas are displayed. How many product areas do you have and would a drag and drop action would be helpful? I’m wondering if after a particular number of product areas would it still be manageable to order them by drag&drop. 

We are planning to categorize by plan type rather than granular product areas, so in our case we’d only have a few. Drag and drop would work perfectly.

Hi there! I wonder if there’s been any movement on this front? In our community, we would also prefer a custom order of the product areas in both: Ideas & Product Updates. 

I’m currently setting up Ideation for our Community and the same question popped up. We want to arrange the areas by likelihood (have the most used ones on top). Similar configuration as for the Ideation statuses would be convenient.

We will be releasing this functionality when we work on adding hierarchy to Product Areas, as well as the ability to subscribe to Product Areas.

We plan to work on this this quarter (November - January) so watch this space 👀

While we see the value in being able to customize the order of product areas, this isn't something we're actively prioritizing right now due to other roadmap commitments. We appreciate the submission and may revisit it as priorities evolve.
