Scenario
In Salesforce, the parent for Account (for Relationship X) is changed from A to B. This happens daily in our environment. The Scorecard Fact (including Unified Fact) now has 2 Active rows for every scorecard measure, 1 for Company A and Relationship X and another for Company B and Relationship X.
Requested change to fix this known issue
At minimum, the rows for Company A and Relationship X should be marked as Active False. Ideally, the original row would just update from Company A to Company B like the rest of Gainsight.
Existing work-arounds
- Update Parent Company: This is very hard to maintain manually. No one is notifying the admin team when a company-relationship is modified. I cannot see any other reason to use this feature, as the Relationship object and r360s all update automatically for the current Company-Relationship combination.
- In all reporting / analysis add a filter for Company ID = Company ID to only display the current combination. Need to remember to do this for all reports and sometimes requires transformation on data causing a delay. Also does not work with scorecard widgets.
