Is there a limit to how many emails can be sent through the rules engine that are marked as Operational? 





I was told there wasn't and then when looking through the documentation it says there is a limit of 1000.





Send Email via the Rules Engine





You can also send emails directly via the rules engine using the Send Email action (this option does not utilize CoPilot). However, CoPilot is specifically built for customer communication and is easier to configure for most use cases. The rules engine covers a broad array of uses, including sending emails, data movement and updating scores. We recommend that you use the rules engine to send email only for the following three use cases:





1.You need to leverage Salesforce email templates instead of Gainsight’s email templates â€¨


2.You want to send an email and initiate another action such as create a CTA



3.You want to send an email campaign without the unsubscribe link (limited to 1000)





We are preparing to send some emails through the rules engine, but there will be more than 1000. 





If there is a 1000 limit, is this per day? per rule run? per email?
Hi Lane, the limit is per rule run. As per another post, we are in this quarter adding this ability in copilot and there the limit for the initial release will be 5K per outreach run. Once we release and look at usage across all customers we intend to relax these conditions. thx

Thank you for your response. Since it's per rule run, how would we exclude those who received an email from the first rule run from subsequent rule runs? 





We are pulling those who should receive the email and the tokens from an MDA table.
I have a similar situation.





Additionally, when sending an email through the rules engine, is there a way to prevent it from sending to duplicate contacts? Or contacts with the same email across multiple accounts.
Lane - The response from Gaurav is limited to the roadmap item in copilot and the limit would be 10k emails per outreach run. Do you want to run on a bigger list? 


As far as rules engine is concerned the 1000 limit mentioned on the document is not valid anymore, that restriction was removed a while ago. I would recommend you to use Copilot to achieve the email needs for better manageability.

We need to send an operational email to several thousand users. From my understanding, this can only be done through the rules engine. 





What I'm trying to find out is if there is a limit to how many can be sent at a time. If there is a limit, what is that limit?

I forgot to include in my previous message that the emails I'm sending need to be operational.  It is to my understanding that the feature to send operational emails in copilot is still on the roadmap.





If that is indeed the case, can you tell me which release it will be in?
The limit in Rules Engine is 200k emails per rule run, which is the # of records that a single rule run can fetch. 
Scott - It is targeted for November release.
