Just found out that the images in one's signature are counted towards the 5 attachments limit in the email to timeline functionality. Is it possible to count only the actual attachments and take the images in signature in consideration only for the size limit? What do you think?
Thanks,
Lucian
Thank you for the note. Do you have any details on what the update will include?
Also, please keep us posted on the ETA.
Thanks!
As a fix we will not be considering the images in the signature as attachments. Only the actual attachments in the email will be picked and the limit of 5 attachments per activity will still apply.
This has been a huge issue for our CSMs. They get an email bounceback every time they use BCC to Timeline. Sad to hear this cannot be disabled.
Also, surprised that this is occuring? We are receiving the email when the signature image is the only “attachment” - well within the limit of 5. I can’t imagine the tiny image meets the attachment size requirements?
We are also experiencing the issue with “images” being counted as attachments. We have asked staff to remove from their emails, any unneeded “images” under their signature, like Facebook, Twitter , etc. and to not make their signature an image, which was being done when staff wanted to include their picture within the signature.
We also noticed the system seems to pick and choose the 5 attachments to attach to the Timeline Email Activity. We have suggested to staff sending emails with attachments via, BCC Email to Timeline, to go to the Timeline Email Activity and validate the needed attachments are available, if not, upload attachments.
Thanks,
Di
I don’t know if this has been mentioned yet or not, but another issue with these attachments is with SFDC Activity Sync. Accounts have a section called Google Docs, Notes, and Attachments - usually reserved for email attachments like invoices, data sets, etc. Unfortunately, every single email that is sent is tagging 6-7 social networking logos, etc in that section. It totally blows it up and dilutes the effectiveness of that tool.
Hi - We are also encountering issues with using exhibiting issues with the attachment limit.
The only thing that I can identify is the signature. Has anyone else seen this recently?

Hi
Hi
Any chance there have been any updates on this?
Thanks,

Hey,
We are also being hit with this.
All our company have standard emails, which include 5+ images.
This means the feature doesnt work, as all it includes is the images from our signature.
We REALLY need some kind of filter for email sig attachments ASAP please
This is a huge issue for us as well...please provide an ETA

Bumping this problem again as this is really impacting our business too!

this is a big issues for us as well. Please update us on ETA when you can!
This is a huge concern for our company as our standard signatures are also more than 5 images (FB, LI, etc.). We receive a “some attachments rejected” notification with every send to Timeline and prioritized “real” attachments are often missed. Anything we can do to prioritize this would be appreciated. Seems like there are several voices out there feeling the same Timeline pain.
We’re experiencing the same as everybody else and would really appreciate a fix on this
It would helpful to have this enhancement in place. Similarly to what others commented on this thread, signatures with images are a the issue for us. Our CSMs are receiving misleading emails stating: 1. They have reached the attachment limit and 2. their activity was not logged to the customer timeline. Overall not a good customer experience to have misleading error messages being sent to you.
We’re experiencing the same issue and we’re not even attaching 5 items. It’s an issue with embedded links as well. This is a huge disruption as we need to be able to send client resources.
Completely understand the concern with this limitation. However, images considered as attachment is a restriction from email provider that we currently use for activities coming from plugins, inbound email and we need to adhere to that. Having said that, we will analyse this feature request and then update this thread.
