If I want to manage the categories that I subscribe to, currently I have to navigate to those categories and subscribe/unsubscribe. This assumes that I remember exactly what I’m subscribed to. 😅

On the Profile > Subscriptions page, I would like to see (and I’m surprised you can’t today) the categories I follow, so that I can easily manage them. As a long time member of our organization’s community, on my Subscriptions page I see 400+ posts that I’m subscribed to. Maybe buried in there is the list of categories I subscribe to, but there’s no way to see that.

Lila, you and I need to be on a Notifications Center design whiteboarding for sure. :)

Makes a lot of sense @lila_meyer! Thanks for sharing. As @anirbandutta hinted, we’ll be working on an all-new in-app notification center to help you and your users better navigate what requires your attention. As part of that, we’ll also revamp the notification settings in the profile page and this sounds like a great addition.

I was just coming in to submit this EXACT same idea. I think this would really help members easily subscribe/unsubscribe. Thanks @lila_meyer!

I am with you to get this option in your profile.

Stumbled on this thread from @DannyPancratz's recent post:

I’m in the process of building out our campaign template and system templates, and part of that is creating a footer for use in those different templates. I can see a lot of confusion here:

Problem

If I (as a user) unsubscribe from a Community email campaign, I’ll (mistakenly) believe that I’ve also unsubscribed from notifications. But those are managed separately.

Question/Solution

Is there a chance the notifications setup could be redesigned to make it clearer what users will be updating when they update their preferences? I realize we can change the phrases here, but the overall layout is more concerning.

  • Notifications (in the Settings menu) feels like it should read “Emails”
  • Campaigns feels like it should get its own section under this menu, since it’s buried at the bottom

@beatriz.winn -- we may want to update some phrasing here to make things a bit more clear. 😃
