Community regulars have not missed the sighting of a new header menu tab: ‘Product Updates’ 🛸
Today, we officially acknowledge that tab as the new home of our Product Release content going forward.
To tee off proceedings, we chose the recently released Gainsight + Hubspot connector and got two key collaborators give us a little BTS for this move.
- Product Manager of the connector
@inagar presented a brief history of our first iteration of a basic connector from 3 years ago to it’s current glory, in-keeping with the latest needs of the market and growth of the Hubspot tech itself. Refer to the product update for a short demo by@Tori Jeffcoat Hubspot & Gainsight: A Perfect Pair - Product Marketing Manager
@Jessica.Quazza explains how she has used the Product Updates on inSpired, presenting the Release as a story with links to the Release Notes for a deeper read at the same time making the Release, ‘more conversational’.
Why ‘Product Updates’?
The promise of a Big CS or PX Releases, intricately documented by
Given, the ‘Product Updates’ module is a an OOTB module of our CC product, this is a good time for GameChanger to adopt the module to demonstrate another cool feature of our own Community platform.
We get to browse Releases more easily in the Product Updates world using the same Product Area filters as we can for Ideas.
What happens to ‘Product News’?
I know many of us have been following the Product News section as Gainsight’s SAAS newscenter will be dissolved and it’s role will be shared by this new module and other discussion areas.
The Major Release Announcements: CS release notes, PX release notes, and CC and CE going forward are going to be produced as Product Updates, labelled as a QUARTERLY or a FEATURE Release.
Patch Release announcements, Survey call outs and other types of updates would find their way into the Product feature discussion categories as we look to consolidate our navigation to prepare for an inSpired + GameChanger communities merge… {more to come on that}
Any other broader platform communication, like the CS Ops Product Council nomination announcement would be done on the Lounge Area (open for renaming suggestions as it is done by Sonia today.
Let us know your first impressions of the new Product Updates module of GameChanger or any other questions you mat have regarding the transition in comments.
