I would like to hear more about DSA (Digital Service  Act, 2022/2065) plans. EU have set new regulations for the companies who have online platforms, beginning of 17.2.2024.

I think inSided have plans to provide full support for the all features?

EDIT: I added link

Maybe @Alistair FIeld knows more about this?

Ciao @revote

We’ve been keeping an eye on the new EU laws that are rolling out. From what we understand, our product shouldn’t be affected by these new rules. For the following reasons:

  • We’re not big enough to be targeted by this legislation, it’s mainly for the big tech companies like Facebook, TikTok, etc.
  • We don’t offer personalized ads or algorithms that are mentioned in the law.
  • The content is moderated by companies using our platform, if you actively moderate the content you should be good.

Does this align with what you guys understand? Or is there another angle we’re not seeing?

We will continue to monitor developments related to the DSA and any potential implications for our platform closely. Rest assured that if there are any necessary adjustments or features required to align with regulatory requirements, we will proactively address them to ensure ongoing compliance.

Let us know!

Thanks @Alistair FIeld. These regulations are complex and extensive. We still think there are several things we all should be covering after DSA takes effect. But for now, it is good to know you are monitoring DSA and the requirements.

Hi @Alistair FIeld,

have you guys been investigating this lately?

We’re working on the new DSA regulations aswell. There is quite a lot to be changed to be compliant - interested to hear if you have investigated this further 😊

Hello everyone, just wanted to chime-in and share that we are actively interviewing customers and consulting our own legal experts as part of our investigation of these regulations.  We are looking to publish our perspective and guidance here in the community soon.

Hey folks, quick update that we just published the following article containing our current perspective on the DSA.

Thanks @Kenneth R for the article. Can you tell something about the new features, are you going to build something to the platform because of DSA?

For example:

  • Report-feature what can be used by the non_members as well
  • Version history to the posts - mods and admins can see what was the original post before it was edited
  • API interface what sends DSA related actions/data (automatically) for EU

We cant add comments to the article so I add this here: What comes to the GDPR, Gainsight CC platform isnt fully compatible. For example, when your post is quoted, your nickname remains there even your user is deleted. Your posts will be anonymized, yes, but if you are quoted your nickname still remains there.

We used Khoros earlier and they had all the features I mentioned above (okay, I dont know do they have that API but they have all other features I mentioned above). Years before DSA 😃

Much needed! Also, more customisation options for the pop-up that appears when pressing “Report”. We need to have a lot of information there:

What are you missing especially?

I’m just popping in to say that I fully agree with @revote  on this one - for example a “Report-feature what can be used by the non_members as well” is much needed 😊

@revote sorry, missed your reply. We would need to have as much customisation options as an article it feels like… For example, we would need an unordered list to name the specifics for making a report. We would also need a checkbox that states: “By clicking "Report" I guarantee that the content is reported in the belief that the information and statements in the report are correct and complete”.

Got it, thanks. Yeah, I can agree, we need these as well.

Hey folks, very new to CC here!  We are planning to deploy our community in Q3. Can anyone comment on how the regulations apply where the end (community) user resides in the EU, however the Community instance (and company) are based in the US?
