When a contact is added to a Timeline entry, it would be nice if we had the option to set it up so that it automatically updates a custom date field that we have on the contact record and account record in Salesforce (the fields show the last time we communicated with that contact or account).
Rahbi, have you figured out how to do this nightly with a Rule?
No.  Would it be a rule in Salesforce, since that is where it's updating the field?
Nope! 🙂 You would use a Gainsight Rule to pull the date of the most recent Timeline record for each Contact, and use the 'Load to Salesforce' action for any Contact where the most recent Timeline date is more recent than the "Last Contacted" field on the Contact.
