Can I use a picklist field in a Formula field in Query builder?

I want to create a formula field using a picklist value in the Query Builder for Advanced Outreaches.  Is this possible or do I first need to convert the picklist value to a number field?

    Can you provide some more details on the exact use case - which formula field you are trying to use?
