View Result Sets of Queries and Merges when Creating Rules

It would be super helpful to be able to see the data as you're making adjustments in the Rules Engine. I've heard the workaround for this is to create a report, but this means I have to flip from report to Rules to see how changes are effecting the data, which would be easier to troubleshoot in the same page.

As Jeff mentioned you can just run the rule in test mode (you don't even need to configure an action) and view the results for each rule step either in your browser, or via download:

You can use "preview" in the Data Set tasks. It would be rather difficult to do previews in other task types (merge, transformation, pivot) because they are dependent on the execution of the dataset tasks.

You can, though, view the output of each task on the Execution History screen (of course this requires that you test run the rule).
