Hi Scott, I am having issues with a Report that is duplicating data.  Here is the gist of the report:
Show: Current Score
By: Snapshot Date, Stage, and color.

 

When I take out the Snapshot date of the by, it duplicates all the Snapshot dates and instead of having say 100 we have 700.

I apologize if this is a repeat topic. I could not make it to last week’s office hour.

 

How does Gainsight’s storage back-up work? My specific question is - if I delete data out of the “Timeline” object, does Gainsight’s AWS storage also delete it? Or is it forever stored unless I work with Gainsight to create a data retention policy?

 

Also, I know Gainsight Assist is a relatively new tool. I was wondering if there’s any chance of customizing the hover text over the checkbox for end-users? (see screenshot attached) It currently says “You are choosing not to log the email to Timeline”, and I would really like to customize it so it can comply with my company’s security protocols.

 


Hello @kayeyoon -- I can give you an answer to your “deleted data” question at least, then have some add’l requests for your 2nd question:

  • Deleted data remains in backups for up to 1 month - Gainsight runs daily backups on AWS-clusters in 7-day cycles and weekly backups in 4-week cycles. 
  • So to answer your question as to how long deleted data may still be ‘findable’ (rather than hard-deleted), the longest that it could survive in Gainsight backups would be 5 weeks.  I’m confirming this with our TechOps team, but pretty confident that this initial answer is close.
  • Another thing to note: there isn’t a “soft delete” in Gainsight, and pulling data from backups isn’t generally an “undelete” option - it’s reserved for catastrophic deletions made in error, etc. (just so nobody else reading this starts opening tickets to “restore” 3 timeline entries from last Thursday or anything - it takes days and it can be expensive)

As for customizing the mouseover text, that’s not possible in Email Assist - are you talking about our GMail or Outloook connector for email? Can’t quite figure out where in our UI the screenshot comes from - but sounds like you might be looking to change the default setting rather than mouseover?
