We have set action upon button click for PX guide engagements Request you to provide it for dialog and other engagements as well.

I endorse this request! 🙂 The custom button features in the V2 guide editor help us to better engage with our users!

Hi @JayS and @suryanarayana,

Thanks for this submission!  With our team’s hard work on the V2 editor in the guide engagement, we have typically seen customers utilize a one step guide in lieu of a ‘dialog’ or ‘slider’ engagement.

Is there a particular reason that this workaround would not work?

If you are looking to also have the custom button functionality in surveys, I can understand a need there.  Let me know if you have anymore information or thoughts about this approach.

Hi @jmobley. I have used that workaround many times. A couple things:

  • A “workaround” has a negative connotation for me … we’re having to figure how to “trick” GainsightPX into doing something that can’t be done in the engagement type we wanted to use.
  • The engagement is then shown as a Guide in the list and reporting, even when it’s not really a guide. This can make it more challenging to identify the Slider we created that Gainsight shows as a Guide.

Another idea might be to only have the one engagement editor and allow the user to select the type when editing … similar to how we can select Triggered By Automatic, Knowledge Center, or Badge.
