Hi all,

Is it, in any way, possible to add an image to a PM?

I just did some testing and I think the simple answer is "no."
If you copy and paste the image into the PM, it looks like the BB code is created when you send it (as a link to the original image location). It won't be displayed properly though, since the BB code doesn't appear to be processed. When you view it in control, however, the image is displayed.

Attachments to private messages are currently not supported but there are many other customers like you that want to have this feature.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention Darran :)

We do have the ambition to work on attachments for private messages - we totally understand how the current workaround (using an external image host) has major downsides - especially if you have to ask a customer to use the tool to share an image with you, that's a bit embarrassing.

However, we're not currently working on it (and have no plans to work on it this quarter, at least).

As I mentioned in my response to Jurgen here, whilst we've been able to expand the rollout of the WYSIWYG editor in Control, the ability to include/attach images in private messages will require a significant investment of our time, as it's a completely separate piece of functionality.

I'd advise anyone who's interested to keep an eye on the inSpired roadmap updates to get a clearer idea about when we'll pick this up - but I can confirm it won't be during Q1 2019.
