Good Morning Community Friends

Does anyone have experience in utilizing Paligo for their content management system and pulling that content into the search within their community?

@Sudhanshu tagging you incase you have any insight 😊

I don’t have any experience with Paligo, but we use the Federated Search API for a similar use case.

It’s a great solution for any search integration you need when there’s not a existing native/prebuilt integration.

Hey @LexiaAlistair! Unfortunately, I have not come across this either though it should be possible with the API as Danny suggested. Let me know if you need help with FS API. :)

@LexiaAlistair We are using both Paligo and Gainsight CC. As @DannyPancratz suggested above, we use the Federated Search API for integration. I didn't implement this myself, but could get you in contact with my colleague who did, if you'd like to discuss deeper.

@Sudhanshu I didnt recall anything connector base, but assumed the Fed Search API would work.

@Jef Vanlaer that’s awesome! This week I will be talking about Paligo with our KM Team as I am not fully aware of it’s capabilities or functions.

It looks like your KB is in SFDC . So I assume you push from Paligo into SFDC KB then use the Fed API from there. If you could make the connection that would be fantastic 🙏🏻

FYI @jessmorales

@LexiaAlistair this is tenuously related, but I put together a tutorial on how to automate the federated search indexing using Google Scripts. As it happens, we do use Paligo here, but it became a bit of a nightmare to get the content I needed from there. So I actually ended up going directly to the site that hosts the content. This *could* very well be because of how we are using it, so this may not be a blocker at your end.

The key things to remember with the federated search are the title, content, url and source. The title is what you’d expect. The content is what is indexed. We have chosen to use the whole content of the page being indexed. This content is NOT taken from the URL that you need to provide. This is key. The URL is as you would expect and the source can be anything you want it to be. But make sure you group your content by the source appropriately.

As I said, this tutorial will not be a perfect fit for your requirement here. If you are going via Paligo, then you will need to deal with the Paligo API here as well….although you can easily extrapolate from how the Gainsight API is used.

Let me know if you have any questions.

@LexiaAlistair Our KB is a custom HTML site (actually 2: userguide.trendminer.com and documentation.trendminer.com). The Community is public at https://community.trendminer.com, so you can check out what it looks like there (search for "value based search", for example).
