InSided aims to help its customers find reliable data. We are currently working on improving some of the dashboards, and want to ensure that the data we display in all the dashboards is relevant to you. We would like to share some of our ideas and hear your feedback.

If you are interested in having a call where you can test some of our prototypes please don’t hesitate to email me directly at spop@gainsight.com

🎯 Goal

What we want to achieve:

  • Clear predefined date ranges

  • New display of two calendar months to showcase start date and end date

  • Custom range removed from predefined date ranges as users can edit the dates in the preview

🤔 Questions

What we need clarification on:

  1. Can you please tell us the difference between the last 7 days and last week, and the last 30 days and last month?

  2. Is there any predefined date range that is missing or any you will not use and could be removed?

  3. Do you use the custom range?

  1. I think it depends on what your organization needs to report on. Calendar months will be key for that. But I like that you over rolling 7 day and 30 day filters to make it easy for those of us looking at that.

Also last month could be 28, 30, or 31 days, so the last 30 day filter won’t always work even if you apply it on day 1 of the month.

  2. It would be incredible if you could define a weekdays-only filter.

  3. Yes, often. And my two cents on removing it is that it’s the wrong idea. I’m obviously biased as a frequent user, but I don’t think the editing in preview will be intuitive for new users. While I will adjust, you run the risk of frustrating users who go weeks/months not knowing they can edit in the preview.

  1. What @DannyPancratz said 😉
  2. Last 3 months - sometimes I like to look at things from a wider perspective in order to see more of an overall trend.
  3. Yes often 😊

  1. +1 on @DannyPancratz’s answer.
  2. +1 on weekdays, but would also like to see one for this week

  3. Yes, frequently.
