How do I add a new category in the forum?

Hi,

you can do this very easy & quick in the Forum structure settings in your communtiy. The button is in the top right corner:

You can just try it yourself - it is really easy and you can delete the category really quick as well.

I see that you are Administrator on your community, so it should be no problem. Are you not able to see this option?

This section of the control environment is visible to everybody who is Moderator, Community Manager & Administrator. You can also give permission to other users if you like, then you need to create a custom user role which allows this:
