We are trying to set up form tracking for the “Register” button on the Registration page where users would register for a new account. We’d like to separate successful logins versus unsuccessful logins. When we look at the Variable section of Google Tag Manager, we are not seeing any differences in Form ID, Click Classes or anything else.
How do we measure successful versus unsuccessful form registrations or how can a developer push separating values into the data layer?

Hey there @MattASUG !
I’ve been looking around the various discussions, guides and articles over here all day to try and find the answer, but it doesn’t seem to exist unfortunately.
There doesn’t seem to be anything obvious that I can think of, however I have done a bit of digging through the documentation. It seems that you might be able to make use of some API tricks based on https://api2-eu-west-1.insided.com/docs/#section/Webhooks/Event-payload-examples and then combine that with advice from this thread to do something similar.
But I’m not sure how easy it would be to do as I’ve never actually tried using Google Tag Manager before.

Not sure that’s possible I’m afraid. However, this sounds like something you could suggest as an Idea. It’s probably not practical to have the URL modified, but it might be possible for inSided to do some other magic tricks to allow GTM to pick these up.
If you’re already a verified inSided customer, you should gain access to the Ideas section within 48 hours from now. If that doesn’t happen or it breaks somehow, feel free to shoot a PM to Julian and he’ll take a look.
You’re actually in the right place to get advice from the developers already @MattASUG . This forum is actively monitored by inSided staff. However, it’s getting close to the weekend, so they might not be back until Monday.
