I want to remove older Product Update posts from the front end without needing to trash them. Is there a way to archive them like how we can with Articles and Questions?

Unfortunately, this isn’t currently possible with the Product Updates content type. It’s one of our newest modules so there are still some functionality gaps for this content type. Our product team is working hard to create feature parity between all of the content types of Conversation, Question, Idea and Product Update, so that they behave in the same way.
There is an open idea that I’d encourage you to vote on, to be able to convert Product Updates back to articles (so you could then archive these):
Alternatively, you could raise a new idea to add archiving functionality to Product Updates if this fits your use case better.
