Hi @Julian /@ErikD,

I have noticed on the InSided Community that there is an option to post an Idea topic and this is limited to the 'Got an idea?' community board platform.

This is great, and I'm wondering how you can do this as we would be interesting in doing the same for Idea and Question topics?

Thanks,

Sam
Are you on a branded template?
Hi guys! :)

@Jurgen yes, their community is not even live yet, so they are automatically on branded template. :)

@Samuel Meek the "Create topic" page knows exactly if a specific subforum is meant for ideas (or not), and will automatically limit the category selection to that ideation subforum. This means that, should you start such a subforum, it would automatically work like you experienced here on our community.

This unfortunately does not work the same way for questions - I assume you want to restrict users on asking questions and not be able to start new discussion topics?

I have a bit of doubt that such a feature would stop users from starting discussions - they probably would start debating within (other users') questions regardless.

Cheers,

Julian
Thanks, guys.

So, how do I get this to work? 😃

Sam
Hey Sam,

You just need to go to 'forum structure' in control, go to the specific subforum you want to make an ideation subforum and select the below option:
