Hi folks,

I’d like to customize the phrase for this error message, but I can’t get to it from my own login. Can someone help me identify the phrase?

Users get this message when they try to create a topic before activating their email:

Sometimes it gives a banner telling them to activate their account, but sometimes not (I don’t know what triggers it). Ideally, I could add a note to this phrase to encourage users to activate, otherwise I suppose they will get frustrated and abandon the community.

Thanks,

Jess

Hey @JessEs ,

Does this help at all?

I think it’s probably the 403 error you want to modify for this one!

Hi,

this is a very specific error message, but I was able to locate the phrase code for it. Simply add it in the [Phrases] menu using the following information:

Module: Forum

Key: You don't have enough permissions to create a new topic.

In the "Singular" field, you can then add the text you'd like to be displayed.

If users did not activate their accounts, then this would be displayed in a very obvious banner at the head of each page - so I think it would be hard to miss for anyone. You can actually re-create that by changing the primary user role of a test account to “Awaiting email confirmation”.

Let me know if you have more questions around this!

Thanks @Julian - I wouldn’t bother to change it, except while I was testing the orange banner did not always appear, though I didn’t figure out why this was. Anyway, I hope this will take care of it. :)
