Product updates use own topic IDs which creates issues on the activity stream

So, this one isn’t a question, but basically a bug report.

On the inSpired Homepage there is a product update topic in the activity stream at the moment:

 

If you click on the “X new” link, you’re supposed to be forwarded to the newest unread comment in that product update topic. But you are being sent to a completely different topic.

The reason is that product update topics have own topic ID numbers (separated from the other content types), they don’t follow the usual ascending topic ID order. This product update has the topic ID 47. And when you click on the “X new” link, you are being sent to the other topic with the topic ID 47.

Hi Bjoern,

thanks for reporting this here! I have checked with the team and they have confirmed to me that they are aware of it and already have a ticket to be handled in the next few days.

It seems to be the case that we do not show this link in product updates and are intending to remove this from activity streams on other pages (like the homepage) to avoid this from happening.
