I am wondering about rank icons - if we were interested in implementing icons of different shapes (a star for example), I believe this would not cause any issue. We have only had circular ranks so far so I wanted to confirm that this would be possible. According to this post:

If you use a transparent background and .png file, you can use whatever shape. You just lose the pixel space from the default size / shape, so consider how that shape will look very small. (that said, transparent elements helps with less overlaps of their profile picture)
