I was looking around the community for this answer but was unable to find anything specifically mentioning what email notifications the email address assigned as the webmaster receives. Is there an existing article with this information?

Good call out, this is something that should be documented on the community.
We send notifications to the webmaster email address for emails that either fail to deliver (server outage, full inbox etc.) or for emails that are marked as spam by the community member. Our support team can configure these for you if you would like these notifications turned off.
