What happens to images that are uploaded, but then deleted due to a personal data issue?

What happens to images which are uploaded and then deleted? I just uploaded an image with a demonstration of a process and forgot to fully check it for personal data. I realised as soon as I had posted it, so edited the post, removed it and added an edited version of the image. But I am concerned about the image potentially still being on your servers.

Hi @rhall, When an image is uploaded to a topic and then deleted, it is permanently erased from our servers.

As a side note, if the image was used in multiple topics by copying and pasting the generated link, it will be removed from all topic instances after being deleted from one.

Thanks @Sudhanshu

I just want to clarify that when you say “deleted”, I take it you mean simply by editing the post that the original image was added to and simply removing it from that post? The reason I ask is that I have worked with other software that would treat attachments and images as their own entities. You could delete the images and attachments without having to find the post(s) in which they reside.

@rhall Correct! It is designed exactly for the use case you mentioned.

Are you referring to a common repository of all media where you could manage it?

Yes, where can we manage this @Sudhanshu? Also, can users manage this for themselves?

@rhall Currently, there is no centralized library to manage media. It’d be great if you could submit this as an idea, we will take it into consideration depending on the traction it gets. Thanks.
