It has been several weeks since we launched our first branded template. Meanwhile we have launched multiple communities and improved a bunch of things. We hope you noticed any changes, if not we got you covered.
TL;DR
Branded templates are the latest community templates from inSided. We provide continuous automatics updates of new features without extra costs. Over the past weeks we released more than 100 items to your community. Some small, some big, some new and some improvements, we did it all. We hope you enjoy the things we’ve been working on.
NEW
- Configure community homepage image and tagline via Control. Change your community image wherever you want, whenever you want.
- Unified list view. Discussions, questions, answers, articles and surveys all combined within one category.
- Articles. Publish high-quality content in the community. Include a full width featured image above the content and the topic will be highlighted in the community by adding a label to it.
- Surveys. Publish questionnaires in the community to get fast, reliable insights from your community users.
IMPROVEMENTS
- Featured topics on community home- and category pages
- Profile cards - profile information on the go on topic pages
- Added a ‘Load more’ button on recently active tab in homepage
- Search box behaviour. Triggering the search box will hide the placeholder and you will start typing from left.
- Improved the notification when there are no search results and added a button to create a new topic right away.
- Mobile pagination. Replaced index numbers by icons so you can easily navigate to other pages and jump to the start or end of a topic
- Multi-plural support. Set multiple plural phrases via the phrase tool if your language has multiple plural forms
- Emoji support. Access to more than 999 different emoji
- Stripped BBcode from Recent activity tab on the homepage.
- Decreased the spacing on widget titles to make them more compact
- Increased spacing between username icons so they don't overlap
- Mobile typography. Font-size of titles are decreased to improve readability
- Display labels on featured topics when they are set
- Added dismiss functionality to welcome message on homepage
- Various design optimisations (missing borders, alignment issues)
- Improved page titles on various pages
- Remember last visited tab. Every time you navigate to the community homepage it will show the tab that you visited the last time
- Empty widgets should not show unless there is something to show
- Display a subtle message if no badges are awarded yet (new communities)
FIXED
- Several small bugs
- Hide badges widget and badges page when gamification is not enabled
- Hide topic type ‘Idea’ when there is no ideation category in your community
- Allow topic creation with cyrillic symbols
- You can select day #31 and month #12 in the datepicker for date of birth again
- Back to top footer brings you back to top of the page
- You can add Emoji via mobile devices again
- Follow/unfollow functionality now works as it should
