If I'm trying to use calculated fields to measure the change in monthly customer revenue, do I use a comparison or aggregation calculated field. I want to create a CTA that fires when there are changes to the monthly revenue.

'Comparison' is the way to go for your use-case. You can do an actual difference on revenue numbers or a % change, depending on your CTA criteria. I'm assuming you are trending your monthly revenue numbers already?
