Question

Requirements for logging email to Timeline from JO

When logging emails to Timeline from a Journey Orchestrator email Program, does the Company or Relationship GSID need to be in the Participant List?  I thought it did, but I can’t find any documentation anywhere in release notes, gainsight Go, or Community to support my belief.  Does the system just use the email address to map to each Company Person, or other logic like an External Id in the Participant List?

Thanks,

Angela “can’t trust my memory” Domenichelli

Curious on this myself -- we mandate the inclusion of the SFDC Account ID for our programs, but curious whether other fields might work as well.

I actually asked a question about this to Support recently (due to an issue of emails not being logged) and was told that the only requirement is either the Company GSID or Account ID is required. Not sure how any person mapping is done but would be curious to hear more, especially with the PC360 beta.

This makes sense. Definitely curious about person mapping, considering how the timeline shows all the recipients at each organization (and their engagement) for each individual email in a historical overview. It’d be interesting to be able to look at a given contact and see everything they’ve received, especially if they’re in multiple organizations.

I thought external ID or Company GSID was required when creating a Participant List.  How did you have emails missing from Timeline if it is using these fields?

It is, the underlying issue for emails missing was unrelated and on the backend. But as part of troubleshooting, just had to make sure I wasn’t missing something on my end.
