We have instances where we meet with our customers and a partner organization. The contacts belong to separate companies in Gainsight and then we aren’t able to add all of the external attendees on the timeline activity. We are restricted to the contacts who belong to the company and have to delete out the contacts who belong to the partner organization. 

Had anyone else experience this and what have you done to manage this?

Maybe you can try adding the contacts of the partner organisation as internal users assigning them internal collaborators license. This way you can add them in the timeline under internal attendees.


Good question, @dj3turner. You may find some solutions in the Person / Company Person model.

You should be able to create Company Person records, so that a single individual (represented as a Person record) can be associated with more than one Company (represented as a Company Person record). This depends somewhat on how your Contacts / Persons / Company Persons are currently configured.

This would allow you to have a individual within your partner linked / associated to several Companies, and by extension pull in the partner as an External Attendee.
