In our previous post, we discussed how to identify learners who have not started or completed their courses and those who have not activated their accounts. Now, let's dive into how you can to re-engage these learners and bring them back into your academy.

 Here are a few actionable steps you can take:

  • Group Notifications: Send group/broadcast messages in Gainsight CE to remind users to complete courses or activate their accounts in the Academy. See the below images as an example of how you can send a message to all users who have not started your ‘101 Course’!

I created a name for the purpose of the message I am sending for my personal admin organization. I also gave the message an attention grabbing subject line with a call to action for the recipients.
Here, I have created a group of all of the learners that haven’t started the desired course that I’m sending a notification out for. I am planning of sending this message to all not-activated and activated learners who are part of this group.
In the content section, I added personalized text and context for my message. I also added a CTA button and linked the specific 101 course so it brings my learners right there.
  • Personalized Follow-ups: You, or another customer-facing colleague can contact those individual users who haven’t started or completed courses outside of the Gainsight CE product.
  • Reminders for Activation: For users who haven’t activated their accounts. Remember, you can do this individually for each learner, in bulk, or for all not-activated learners in your academy via the People tab.

🧠 Pro tip: Get creative, don’t just tell them to go back into the academy to start their courses, give them some sort of an incentive! If they finish the content you need them to finish, you can offer some swag like a t-shirt, early access to a new feature or exclusive content, recognition on Linkedin for example, etc.

Hello! We are currently updating courses within our Learning Paths, and in some instances we may be taking out a course and replacing it with a new course. We would like for all of the groups that are in the learning path to be notified of the new course, even the ones that have completed the learning path when the previous course was in there. Is the best way to notify all the groups is to use the  Notifications Tab within the learning path? Also, with the notification, where will this appear for the learners? Thank you

Hi @razar

If you want to notify all of these users at the same time, I suggest using a Group message found in our Communications tab under “Broadcast”.  This will appear in the learners email inbox.

You can create a group of all of the users who should be taking this new learning path with the new course then customize a broadcast email to inform them of this announcement. Or, use the groups you may have already created to accomplish this.

In a recent community post, I answered some questions about what happens when an admin alters a learning path. There was one comment in there about notifying new learners about a new course in the path: Learners are not (automatically) notified if you add a course to a learning path, but if this course is new to the learner (meaning they are not previously enrolled into the course) they will get a course enrollment email for it if that email is turned on for the customer (in Communications).

@cdonargo Thank you so much!
