Data Lake Progress

Still in beta. Looks like the group might be private, so I imagine talk to CSM/support to request access. 

I haven’t used it yet, we just joined the beta to explore using it.  @rhall has become a superuser in the beta. 

An answer in the group indicates they were targeting later this summer for an open beta once they get some improvements and enhancements to a spot they’re comfortable. 

So potentially open beta soon, but {roadmap caveat emptor}

Since we are building from zero as we speak, I thought it would be good to get all connections possible made.

@LexiaAlistair it is well worth waiting for….I appreciate I am saying that as someone who isn’t having to wait 😉 There are a number of changes that have been happening over the last couple of months, so I have been having to make regular updates to my queries. What I will say is that you will be able to get so much more information on what your users are doing. So far I have built queries to….

1. Track every page users visit
2. Gather enhanced stats on users  - likes given/received, pages viewed (per day/week/month/etc), frequency of Community visits, number of times they have been tagged or tagged people, ...and several more
3. Performance of staff within the Community
4. Locations (rough locations) of user visits

...as an example. If you know SQL, have a bit of AWS knowledge and are comfortable with custom pages, you can build stuff like this. This is a prototype radar chart I have built for users to compare themselves against others….

 

As I said, it is still in a prototype form and has detailed stats in a table below….but I didn’t want to give away too much 😉

For me, this is a real game changer for the Community. Well worth waiting for!

As @rhall said it is still in closed beta and as we are now deploying a lot of changes in data we do not admit new participants. But our goal is to open it to all customers in November :-)
