Report of Customer Goals associated with Success Plan for Snapshots
We are creating a success snapshot that includes a report of Customer Goals. We can choose the company and success plan for the snapshot to reference, however, for the report, we can’t seem to only show the goals associated with the success plan selected - it shows all of them.
Is there a way to identify goals associated with a customer’s specific success plan so that only those are included in the snapshot?

@jessica_owens Looks like you can do it with the Customer Goals Association object, and then, select the Association that you want to be able to drill down to. I haven’t tried to put it in a Success Plan, but that might help?
Thank you!! I’ll try that!
@jessica_owens were you able to figure the above out? I am also trying to do this so would love to hear more about it! Thanks

Yes, report on the “Customer Goal Association” object. See below for snapshot.
Hey @jessica_owens, does this still work for you? I am working on building out a Snapshot with Goals but it will not bring in just the associated Goals, even when I use the Customer Goal Association report. Any info/guidance is much appreciated!

Hi @sami.burk, I didn’t end up using the Goal Association report type. I ran out of space on the slide, so I opted to show the top 3 goals by priority (high, medium, low) on the slide instead.
I’m not sure where’s you’re at in your config, but if you do use the Goal Association report type, make sure to resolve the join (snapshot) so that the report shows associated goals.
Then, when you create your snapshot, you’ll select the success plan you want referenced in the snapshot/reports. That will then pull in the goals associated with that success plan. (snapshot)
If you get stuck, ping me back. I’m happy to circle up really quick to help you get this built.
@jessica_owens Unfortunately, these are the steps I have taken and they do not work as expected. My Gainsight TAM tried to assist but we couldn’t work through the issues. You mentioned you didn’t end up using the initial report you planned to build, but have you had any luck with Snapshot showcasing a report that filters to only Goals associated with the selected Success Plan? I’m at my wits end here and go live is in 3 weeks! My TAM has a message out to Product but I may need to submit a support ticket.
Here’s a summary/outline of what I’m experiencing:
Expectation: The report on the Snapshot should only show the Goals associated with the selected Success Plan.
Actual: Report on Snapshot shows all Customer Goals on the Company that fit report filter criteria, even those not associated to the selected Success Plans.
Report Object: Attempted originally with a Goals object report, then with a Customer Goals Association object report, with the Association Type set to Success Plan.
Things to note:
Obviously the Success Plan is selected when exporting the Snapshot either in the builder or in the user ‘Share Snapshot’ route, but that alone is not limiting the list of Goals that show up. Additionally, on the Snapshot Builder, in the Account Fields filter option, there is not an option to select Success Plan GSID to force the limitation of report results (and you can’t click ‘Success plan’ itself).
I’ve tried these steps with multiple Goals objects and even creating whole new Snapshots.

Sorry, just seeing this reply. I can poke around and try to recreate this on my end and a solution. I sent you a direct message with my contact info in case you want to hop on a call to put our heads together on this config.
@sami.burk I just some testing in my instance, and you’re NOT crazy. This doesn’t work and a support ticket is the way to go for a fix long-term.
I tried creating a snapshot with the Goal Assoc report and it gave me all goals associated to success plans (2 diff plans), not the one that I select...it didn’t even give me the option of selecting a success plan.
I thought that you could use data designer to create a report that would work. But it’s looking more and more like a problem with the snapshot builder than a problem with the dataset.
I’m so sorry you’re struggling with this and in a tight deadline. Hopefully Gainsight will have this fixed soon for you.
