We cannot use the Rule Name link because it directs to Gainsight stand-alone and we use Gainsight as a console app in Salesforce. Related topic here. So these are the steps we needed to take to resolve:
- Open Gainsight NXT in Salesforce
- Navigate to Rules
- Search for Rule
- Open Execution Log
- Now we know 1 record failed out of 2,900
- Download failures
- Find error message in column within the report (in this case, it was the last column, but I have found it in the middle of the report before)
Only now can we start to troubleshoot. Some possible improvements:
- Gold star: the email would contain an attachment of the downloaded failures, so we can immediately take action.
- Sharing the scope of the issue - how many success and failures
- getting a count by error message would be amazing if we need to get aggregated info
- The top most common error message in the failure would tell us which system to review
