Some of our customers do not want to review the success plan via a link or snapshot; they prefer to review the success plan via an excel sheet. Is there any possibility of adding the functionality to export Success Plans to an excel sheet?
In addition, my team is finding it very difficult to use the description box within the tasks because they have to scroll through to review all the comments. My team uses the description box on individual tasks to make updates on the progress since there is no timeline feature on the task level (only objective level). Is it possible to have the description box as a pop out so they can see large volume of text?
Lastly, my team would love to see the timeline details associates with objectives in a success plan included in snapshot and link sharing (as well as excel if that idea makes the cut). Right now, my team is updating timeline on each objective but it is not currently being exported on the snapshot nor included in the link sharing. This is causing them to have to manually send these updates and driving usage down (since they have to send the update manually, they are simply using excel sheets since everything is available without additional work).
Thank you!

Thanks for sharing this Pam.
- What all data would you want to be exported? Would creating a report & exporting that to excel work as an interim workaround?
- Currently, the description section expands based on the text present. Generally, how long are your task descriptions?
- In link sharing, do you share a success plan internally / externally? Would it work for you if all timeline posts are visible via the external sharing link / would you need some kind of permissions on it?

Please forgive my delay as I needed to confirm with my team based on some additional conversations.
The team is looking to have the success plan exported into an excel to include everything - objective, all the tasks with the objectives and all the timeline notes for each objective. Creating a report does not provide the necessary fields that one needs.
Task descriptions can be very long depending on what the task is. Most of our success plans are based on specific tickets and what needs to happen for that ticket to be considered resolved in the customers' eyes.
yes, the teams share via link but customers are so used to seeing an excel sheet that it is difficult for them to follow the link - in addition, the link does not include all the timeline posts from the success plan so there is no way for them to see the actual updates.
The other thing that the team is struggling with is actually setting up a success plan. Because each plan is different, there is truly no way to set up a template for them to apply - they still will manually need to create each and every task. If there was a way to import an excel to GS to create a success plan from the import, that would be fantastic!
I don't see an option to attach a sample for you of what the team uses today. If you want me to send directly, just let me know what email to send to.
Thank you for your insight and help. Appreciate it!

Hi Pamela,
Thanks a lot for sharing this.
- You can get the objective & task data into a report. For the timeline data creating a custom MDA object (& using bionic rules to populate it) is the one way to view all the data in the report.
Would you be able to share a sample excel sheet that needs to exported (or seen in a report?). Ill check internally if its possbiel to achieive it. You can drop me a mail at : amarla@gainsight.com
