Difference between Adoption Explorer and Adoption Tracker

What are the differences between Adoption Explorer and Adoption Tracker?

Adoption Tracker was introduced at the beginning of February, according to the Janurary release notes. However, it doesn’t refer the differences between AX and AT despite the similarity of the feature.

Could somebody explain the difference?

Thanks.

Just to ensure there's no misunderstanding, you don't need a PX license for Adoption Explorer.

Given that Adoption Tracker is a new feature with limited documentation, I would suggest reaching out to your CSM for guidance to evaluate the cost/benefit of AE vs AT for your org.

Hi @Shin
If I’m not mistaken, you can use Adoption Explorer with any usage software you may have. Export usage data to S3, ingest via AE, and set up the project. It’s a base feature that requires elbow grease/admin work.

Adoption Tracker provides built-in product usage analytics, including OOTB reports and dashboards. It's powered by PX behind the scenes. However, it's an add-on feature ($).

Hope this helps,

Hi @romihache,

Thank you for the answer.

According to the documents and your response, please correct me if I’m wrong, it looks like Adoption Explorer can handle large amount of data, which requires PX license, can work with Datalake, CRMs, or other datawarehouse, and has greater flexibility in configuration and analysis. On the other hand, Adoption Tracker is an add-on feature that requires additional fee but doesn’t need PX license regardless of being powered by PX technology in behind, and provide simpler analysis feature.

Is this correct?
