Hi,

We recently started using the ideation feature.

We now use ideation statuses for the ideas shared on our community and shared an explanation of every status in a separate topic on the community (which is highlighted on the ideas page).

However we now get the questions from users if it is possible to show the explanation of the status when viewing an idea. For example as hover or via a question mark icon next to the status. So that they don't need to open the topic to see the explanation of a status.

Curious to find out if other users also gets these questions. Or maybe it is something from the start-up fase and to which our users still has to get used to.

Yes -- we had quite a number of questions about this in the first few weeks after going live. Ideally, I would like to see a solution for this where you can add explanation text that displays when the user hovers over a ? icon or something similar.

However, I will share with you the hack/workaround I employed which has worked well. I posted an article in our FAQ area in which we explained each of the statuses and then I used the topic widget (I believe that’s the name of it) to showcase a link to that article on the Ideas page right above the Filter by Status area. It almost immediately cut down on the questions we received. The article also includes tips for how to submit a “great” product idea -- with examples. Submissions have gotten much better, with more details, use case examples, and impact explanations since we did this.

Hi @Julia_M

We also have a topic like that, so thanks for you workaround! Hopefully it has the same effect for us as it did for you.

I still agree with you that idealy, the solution for the ? icon would be better.
