Increasing point earning activity types to support gamification

We’re looking to setup a private Group for customer advocates. From discussions with customer marketing, they’re hoping to differentiate the types of activities that a group member can participate in and get rewarded for, as opposed to regular community category participation. This would require making the following existing activities into point-earning actions:

  • social sharing
  • poll creation and participation

And, ideally, they'd like to track and reward participation for new types of activities, which might start on community, but would possibly be completed elsewhere (?):

  • authoring blog posts
  • survey, research, and case study participation
  • mentor matching

This idea x1000000. I was surprised to see that the point award triggers were so few. 

I’d love to give a different amount of points for liking and voting.

I’d love to give points to people answering questions as well as marking questions as correct, having the reply marked as correct etc

I’d love to be able to give points our manually as well.. like awarding badges, but with the points. For surveys, polls, help people give to us IRL, hosting user groups, being a super user, etc etc.

I have more but let’s start there.

I would love to drive the gamification car, but the engine behind it isn’t quite strong enough to get me up the hill.

 

If some of this is possible with workarounds, I’m also open to that idea in the meantime, but in reality, this isn’t very usable for us.
