Best practices: Communities aimed at entertainment, not service

BartDelwig
Hi guys,

Does anyone know some communities that excel in providing entertaining content? Where people come together and discuss for example their hobbies, interests, etc and where the success is not caused by service-related topics?

Thanks!

Bart

I'd say virtually all biggest communities world-wide are based around interests and hobbies: www.thebiggestboards.com

I love communities of interests! There's so many great and funny ones out there. One of my favourites http://www.backyardchickens.com/ 😁

Do you know any other cool ones?

For a minute there I thought backyard chickens were some kind of metaphor... but yeah it really is about backyard chickens

Mmm nice to know !
So probably we should add more fun contents, to get better motivation & results.
I'm now wondering how to make it fun ? Shall we keep it a bit business related (mobile services), or not ?

You can open topics like 'What was your first mobile phone?' or ask them which cool apps everyone should have, but I can also recommend some fun forum games like '7 letter game' and writing a story together, adding 3 words at a time. You can find lots of forum games on Google.

It doesn't have to relate to the brand/industry at all, see for example the topics of @Angela in Simyo's Gewoon gezellig board. "Picture of the day" sharing and word puzzlegames are connecting members there in a fun way.

Hi!

Like @Hugo mentioned, we place content that isn't business related. We ask for favorite movies, series and songs and play some puzzlegames 🙂 But, you can do both! We also have a 'Gewoon Slim board'. We share more 'Mobile service' related content on this board.
