We have a number of articles with vimeo videos embeded and have been having intermittent issues that are hard to replicate. We’ve tried different browsers, we’ve tried logged in/out, and some experience the issue, others do not.

We’ve reached out to support, but I’m curious as to whether anyone else is having similar issues.

Thanks for raising this here, sometimes we do get questions about this… Unfortunately, you do not describe what the exact issues are - do you sometimes see the url instead of the embedded video?

In most cases it is somehow related to cookies. E.g. Youtube can only be embedded if you allow them to also track via a cookie, otherwise you only will see the url. I can imagine that this is also the same with Vimeo.

It can very well be that your browser has stored several / outdated or incorrect cookie levels during the implementation of the community and now has troubles finding the right settings. Another option could be that the cookie mapping has changed or is not working properly, however then you should have more consistent observations.

I’d surely try it in incognito mode, as this should rule out most of the things mentioned above. Also the support team should be capable of checking the cookie mapping to verify if everything is set up correct.

I don’t think it has to do with video settings itself (e.g. on Youtube you can forbid to embed) as then you would see a more consistent behaviour.
