A localized homepage helps admins to tailor content for region-specific users, enhancing community engagement and accessibility. It enables community admins to dynamically display widgets based on a user's language preference, ensures a seamless and personalized experience. This fosters inclusivity, improves discoverability, and drives higher participation within diverse community groups.
Business Use Case: A community admin can dynamically personalize user experiences by curating featured posts, discussions, and resources based on language preferences. For example, a French-speaking user might see top-rated discussions and trending events relevant to their region, while an English-speaking user sees content aligned with their interests.
Prerequisite
Enable the required language on the Languages page for which you want to create a localized homepage. For more information on how to enable a language, refer to the Configure Language Settings article.
Create a Localized Homepage
Localized homepages allow admins to enhance personalization and improve engagement by delivering relevant content to the right audience.
To create a localized homepage:
Log in to Destination.
From the language dropdown, select an unpublished language. In the following example, the Chinese language is selected. Note:
The page configuration is the same as the Hompage for the default language.
Once the page is edited for a specific language, any further changes to the default homepage will not be reflected on the homepage of that specific language.
To translate specific page content, edit the layout to display language-specific information as follows:
Click Edit Layout.
Click the Pencilicon of the widget to be localized. In the following example, Search Banner is displayed.
Modify the texts in the fields as per the required language.
Click Done.
Click Publish.
The changes done above are displayed only for users who have selected the region-specific language.
Admins can also add different widgets that are tailored for specific community users. For example:
A Chinese-speaking user might see Dynamic Content (widget) that contains news discussions and blogs, while an English-speaking user sees Community Search Bar (widget) on their homepage.
