Thank you to those of you who attended our AI “Real Talk” panel discussion at this year’s Pulse. We ran out of time to cover all the submitted questions, so this is my attempt to address the follow up questions that I’m best suited to answer.
- Do you see Ai/Agents as a more economical solution to outsourcing? No, I see AI agents as an augmentation to the workforce. Our organization does not outsource but we do offshore.
- How do you plan on getting around potential legal hurdles with AI in the future around data, etc. Do you think less regulations will benefit in the long run? Or are guardrails necessary? At the moment, we don’t have answer to the legal hurdles (yet). We focus on the markets less regulated to start in order to commence our AI initiatives. Yes, I believe guardrails are necessary to prevent security risks.
- @Dan Reese, how did you calculate the cost of one AI Agent for your Digital COE ($14K/year)? We measured a time impact of eAvg. 7 meetings per week x 30 minutes of time savings via AI in recaps, actions, and follow up (per meeting)] x 14 full time equivalent employees = 49 hours / week of time savings. The cost of the AI licenses for these 14 employees ~ 14K USD/year (we buy in bulk licenses) therefore 1.2 Digital FTE’s = $14k/year. It’s not a perfect science but the idea is to demonstrate to the company the contribution value of the AI subscription. We will still have to hire humans in 2026 based on growth, but it may mean the difference between hiring someone in March vs. hiring someone in October.
- What are some ways you've enabled your teams in AI use? Both on the tactical "how to use" and "how to approach guardrail conversation" perspectives. Quick guides? Policies? First, we talk about it all the time, so it stays on the forefront of their mind. Our company also has an intranet page dedicated to sanctioned AI tools that we encourage those to use. We discourage the use of unsanctioned tools as they can pose security risks. Employees have a mechanism to submit new tools for review by our Legal and IT in an effort to have them sanctioned.
I’ll cap it here for now, so this response is consumable. If the community is interested, I’ll be happy to post additional questions that I can respond to. I also invite the community to share your experience regarding these submitted questions.
