CE: Quiz milestone keeping user from retaking quiz?

We have a course that has a quiz. We have it set to allow 3 retakes of the quiz. We also have a milestone set that they have to pass with 80% in order to complete the course. However, on the first try of the quiz, if they don’t pass, they don’t have any option to retake the quiz. 

Can you not have milestones if you want to allow retakes and vice versa? Learners are getting stuck and I can’t see anyway to get past it except for completely resetting all their course progress (not just the quiz). 

Any suggestions, or is this just not possible in CE (Northpass)?

Hi ​@Liz K, the order or activities shouldn’t affect how the milestone affects the activity it’s attached to.

You mentioned some learners ran into this, correct? I see you’re also testing this, for some reason milestones do not unlock when previewed in draft now. The course/changes have to be published to test milestones. Maybe that is effecting the retake quiz button? 

If this isn’t the case, I suggest sending an overview of this experience to cesupport@gainsight.com for further investigation into your instance.

Does the retake quiz button populate for them at the bottom when they do not reach the milestone?

Hi ​@cdonargo That does not show up for some reason. Does the milestone and quiz positioning in the course need to be reversed maybe? Can you see any issues with the setup in the screenshots below?

Hi ​@Liz K , there isn’t anything wrong with the sequence in the course. I just tested on my side, and I do see the option to retake the quiz, so I believe the retake button is working as expected.

    Hi ​@cdonargo   Sorry for the delay. It looks like it works fine in one course and is not working in the other. 
     

     

     



    For Fusion it works and for TheraNest it does not appear? Any thoughts on why this might be?

    ​@Liz K does the Theranest have the “allow retakes” option checked? I ask because the 1st image shows the message :please try again” and the 2nd doesn’t, which leads me to believe that it may not be checked off.

    Hi ​@cdonargo I just tripled check and it looks like either there was an unpublished change or I was stuck on an old version. Thank you so much for you help! I thought I was going crazy, truly. 😀
