SKILLJAR: Best Practices for using SCORM Articulate Rise Content

We are new to Skilljar and Articulate Rise. We have some very lengthy SCORM content created in Rise that is organized with sections and lessons, but we find that when updates to the content is required, we have to replace the SCORM file and it forces existing learners to start over. What is the best way to handle this. Is it an industry practice to not put all the content in one SCORM but to use multple SCORM packages in a course structure in Skilljar so that progress is not reset?

Definitely recommend building in smaller pieces for maintenance and updates.

That said, the same issue occurs (progress lost for any SCORM that is updated). I don’t think there is a workaround with Articulate for this.

FWIW: we are transitioning to Parta.io, which is a cloud native elearning development tool that integrates natively with Skilljar. Updates made in Parta are pushed to Skilljar and user progress is not affected. We are just launching this, but piloted it and it was great.
