SKILLJAR: Limit number of users in a group

When a user registers on our site, based on their information they are automatically added into a specific group.  I thought there was a way to limit the number of users who can join a group but may be overlooking it?

Thanks,

Matt

Hey @Mattwl

I’m on our solutions consulting team, so I can jump in and help and route any feedback to our product team.

It sounds like you are configuring your groups correctly to add people into those groups based on their information. This helps with overall management of the group. I understand you’d like to limit the number of users who can be added to a group, is that right?

There isn’t a limit to the max number of users who can be added to groups in current functionality. If you don’t mind briefly sharing your use case on adding a limit that could be helpful for me to share back with our product team.

Thank you!

Spencer

Hello Spencer!

Within our platform, we have certain courses that need to be restricted in two ways:

  1. limited to specific user groups, and
  2. capped so only a set number of users can enroll.

In this scenario, we allow a hospital facility access to our product training, but we want to limit how many individuals can register for courses that are specific to their Residency program.

As a workaround, we’ve set up two groups—one for the main facility and one for the Residency program—and then manually monitor enrollment for the Residency courses. While this works, it would be ideal if we could set a maximum enrollment limit so the number of users can never exceed the allowed capacity.
