Hi everyone, quick update on some maintenance and engineering work that we will start here very soon. 

The Gainsight Community has been around for more than ten years, and in that time a lot of old content has accumulated.  In every community, it’s just a matter of time before you have to do some clean-up - and that generally means archiving.

Our focus in the coming weeks will be Ideas.  We currently have 12,000 of them, many very old, outdated and with a low number of votes (fun fact: our oldest Idea is from February 2015!).  That kind of volume has an impact on search for all members, and makes it increasingly difficult for our Product teams to maintain an overview of important and popular ideas and close the feedback loop on them.  

To make this work as low-risk and transparent as possible, we will move archived Ideas into a dedicated category that will remain publicly accessible.  So nobody will lose their content.  And any archiving we do can be reversed, if necessary (just in case we get something wrong).

We’ll be starting with the oldest and most obvious contenders, in small batches initially.  Ultimately the idea is that we certainly won’t touch anything with activity in the past year or that has more than 5 votes.
