Applying global search within KB

Am I using this wrong? When using the search while in the KB format, I am only able to search within documents within that category. Is there a way to have all searches work the same across all pages?

Hi ​@Laurenseife - what you’re describing is default behaviour.  When you’re in a category, you are indeed searching with that category, and this isn’t something that can be changed.  If you wanted to, you could consider adding a small ‘search the whole community’ sidebar widget / CTA button with a link to the global search page (here that’s https://communities.gainsight.com/search).
